Heidi Klum Style: Name that Bag!

Thursday 21 June 2007 @ 6:32 pm

heidi-klum-with-friends.jpg

On the left we have the lady who wishes she was famous but is happy to be seen with Heidi, in the middle we have the stunning Heidi herself, and on the right we have the lady who wants to look like Nicole Richie. Ok that was mean, but Heidi is just so stunning that anyone with her will look horrid by default. Spotted shopping at Balenciaga in NYC, Heidi Klum fit her perfect body in skinny jeans, a flowing top, and a chic tan handbag.

Get a closer view of the handbag below and let’s play Name that Bag!

Marc Jacobs emulates Fendi

Thursday 21 June 2007 @ 4:05 pm

Marc Jacobs and Fendi

While Fendi has recently released an atrocious line, their B Bag has been making many fashionistas smile for a few seasons now. Marc Jacobs seems to think he can take the shape of an already made bag and make it his own. But who does the double front pockets/buckle better? Would you go for the Fendi Caviar B Bag or the Marc by Marc Jacobs Faridah Shoulder Bag? They are both very different, but upon quick glance they look similar. One is super cheap (and looks it too if you ask me) and one is super expensive (but still may look cheap with the ‘caviar’ finish).

Would you go for the Marc Jacobs bag ( $328 via NAP ) or the Fendi B Bag ( $3550 via NAP ) or say heck no to both?

The Fashion World will Miss Gianfranco Ferre

Thursday 21 June 2007 @ 2:07 pm

Gianfranco Ferre

This past Sunday the fashion world lost a man that will forever leave an impact in the industry. Italian designer Gianfranco Ferre passed away suddenly after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage. He died in the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan. It can be said that “Ferré was often referred to as the ‘Frank Lloyd Wright of’ or ‘the architect of’ Italian fashion, not just because he had received a degree in architecture in 1969, but because his design approach was so rooted in sculptural lines and artistic ideals.”

From all of us, you will be missed and will forever be part of fashion as we know it.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Toilette 25

Wednesday 20 June 2007 @ 3:47 pm

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Toilette 25

Who else uses their free with purchase bags for their makeup? Come on, don’t be shy. I precisely remember how thrilled I was in grade school and high school that my mom spent X amount at the department store and came home with a free Clinique gift bag. The gift bag had my name written all over it. I actually thought it was a present but who was I kidding other than myself, that gift bag was totally free with purchase. Now I wonder how that amused me so much, as I throw most of those goodie bags away or pick out a few decent things and toss the rest in the endless drawers of untouched goods. But now I am that snob, the designer handbag snob. Trust me, your makeup also needs to travel in style (ok that is a blatant lie but I enjoy telling myself that). A fan of Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Toilette 25 is the perfect monogram canvas travel accessory. The shape is perfect for makeup and can be opened with a wraparound zipper that will keep from spillage since it does not go down the length of the case. There is also an interior zipped pocket, for the small necessities, and washable textile lining which makes this bag much more practical for its use. Dimensions are 10.4″x 7″x 3.7″. As long as your goods can fit in here, it is a great accessory treat. Buy for $410 at eLuxury’s LV boutique.

Be & D Audrey Handbag

Wednesday 20 June 2007 @ 2:02 pm

be and d audrey handbag

This quilted patent leather handbag shows that Be & D can design an array of bags that look hugely different. Be&D has been known for their Crawford Hobo, which was widely accepted and loved in leather and seen as weary in black and white canvas. But a structured sister has come on board. The Be&D Audrey Handbag is a contender for an evening handbag, whether it be for dress up or a night on the town. I am actually taken off guard at this coming from the young-crowd pleasing Be & D. It is structured, sleek, and refined. The nude quilted patent leather is trimmed with black. Nothing overly fancy, but something simple and perfect in its own right. I totally love it. Buy for approximately $1241 at Luisa via Roma.

Fendi White Crossword Bag

Tuesday 19 June 2007 @ 10:14 pm

Fendi White Crossword Bag It has been made clear that I am not a fan of the Fendi Crossword Bag. But about 5% of me can understand this white version of the bag being liked by a limited number of people. The country club going, golf playing, IZOD wearing, tennis skirt loving people may find a liking to this bag. The Fendi White Crossword Bag is clean but is still cheaply made and fugly in my opinion. I find the patent leather and mesh to look 100% poorly made. The weave of the materials would make the bag look more like a beach tote, which at least then I could give it a little more credit. But in my own mind I can still see some tennis and/or golf clad woman out there wearing it and pulling it off. I will still laugh when I see it, knowing that my stereotype was right. And I will laugh even more knowing that they paid a ridiculous price for this so-called designer bag.

Buy through Net-A-Porter for $1560.

Gucci Floral Horsebit Hobo

Tuesday 19 June 2007 @ 6:45 pm

Gucci Floral Horsebit Hobo

I am oddly drawn to this bag. Do I need to be smacked across the face with a dead fish? The Gucci Horsebit Hobo is a stunning bag (I own it in tobacco leather) and this version is different to say the least. The horsebit chain detailing remains on the top of the Gucci Floral Horsebit Hobo and there is blue and red embroidered canvas to add a certain touch. I am well-aware of the fact that this would not be an everyday bag, but wouldn’t it be really fun with some outfits? And face it, if you are a handbag collector, you have an array of handbags to switch around so it is not totally crazy. Right now it is marked down a ton, and I keep looking at it wondering if I should go go for it.

On sale at Gucci for $1379 (marked down from $3450).

So, should I do it??

Name that Celeb!

name that celeb balenciaga

One of the gals who made Balenciaga celebrity famous was seen hiding from the cameras. This blond haired gal is posed like a chicken with an itch on her way out after a sushi dinner. I am not sure why one who always loves the cameras is deciding to hide all of a sudden, but can you Name that Celeb with the Balenciaga bag?

Find out after the jump!
